As every year, a high-calibre team of renowned teachers from all corners of the world will be expecting you, amongst them, also a tradition by now, some world-famous new names, to freshen up the staff of the International Mozarteum Summer Academy. For the voice section Horiana Branisteanu, for piano Carmen Piazzini, Ya-Fei Chuang (wife of Robert Levin, who caused a sensation 2007 at the ”Ruhr-Klaviersommer“), Rolf Plagge; for violin Dora Schwarzberg, Liana Issakadze und Vadim Gluzman; for cello Gary Hoffman; for clarinet Wenzel Fuchs.

The three internationally renowned artists Peter Sadlo, Bogdan Bacanu and Momoko Kamiya are again in charge of the percussion department that proved very popular last year.

The important Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino, the 2006 prize winner of the Salzburg County, will come to the Summer Academy as Composer in Residence to hold a composition master class. He will give introductory lectures on a number of his compositions to be performed at the Salzburg Festival.

The International Mozarteum Summer Academy has been the stepping stone to a successful career for a number of world-famous musicians.The program is enhanced by a series of evening concerts and events as well as the Summer Academy's legendary festive opening.
