International art
Each year up to 500 students from over 40 countries meet at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg. Courses for promising young talents, art students, professional artists as well as ambitious amateurs are held at Hohensalzburg Fortress, in the old salt factory on Perner Island in Hallein or in the marble quarry in Fürstenbrunn. Courses are available in painting, drawing, graphics, etching, architecture, sculpture, design, jewelry, photography and video art. The youngest participants are 17, the oldest over 80 years old.
This year the Summer Academy will offer a wide variety of courses. The instructors will come to Salzburg from Rome, New York, Cairo, Chicago, Paris, Beijing, Havana, Warsaw, Montreal – from all over the world. The international, high-caliber artists will share their experience, commitment, understanding, creativity and artistic attitude with the students, creating an intimate, creative and communicative atmosphere – one of the reasons for the Academy's outstanding international reputation
