14 drinking fountains in the Old City were reactivated on the occasion of the World Water Day on March 22, 2007. The fountains – some of them of great historic value – will be cleaned and renovated to be clearly recognizable as drinking fountains. When you see the international drinking water pictogram on a fountain in Salzburg, you can be sure the free drinking water is fresh, invigorating and of best quality.
