Guests will be able to enjoy extraordinary views of the Festival City's famous silhouette and its picturesque environs from the water again this year. The "Amadeus Salzburg" panorama ship is ready to weigh anchor.
The public was shocked by the pictures shown of many parts of Europe last August. The flood destroyed countless houses and drove many people to their ruin. Mozart's City was lucky to emerge virtually unscathed from the natural catastrophe. But the new panorama ship, the "Amadeus Salzburg" fell victim to the flood that tore downstream: a group of residents watched as it was torn from its anchor and sank.
But what is the point of having a tourist attraction if it disappears a year after it was introduced? And so diligent shipbuilders constructed a new ship last fall and winter that is ready to sail from May to September, with room for 60 passengers on a cruise offering a breathtaking view of the cityscape from the water.
