Kids in Salzburg

A city vacation with children is not necessarily a contradiction in itself. On the contrary, Salzburg has a number of entertaining offers to lighten up children's eyes. A visit to the museum, for example, can be an exciting adventure. The Museum of Modern Art on the Mönchsberg offers children's workshops and tours of the museum for various age groups. Or the kids can embark on a supervised children's tour of the Old City featuring a visit to a metalworker and Mozart's Birthplace to show how much fun exploring and learning can be. A stop at Hohensalzburg Fortress (also accessible by funicular if the kids' feet are tired) is well worth the visit.

In addition to the above mentioned, exciting excursion destinations for the whole family, Salzburg and its environs have a multitude of other attractions to offer: e.g. the Salt Mines in Bad Dürrnberg, the Museum of Natural History, the Marionette Theater, the Toy Museum, Fürst Confectioners, where the famous Salzburg Mozartkugel was invented, and of course the Zoo.
