Long laid back sunny days and balmy summer evenings spent in a beer garden with a long cool beer and a tasty treat from the buffet; what more could a beer drinker want? At the start of May the owner and manager of the Stiegl brewery, Dr. Heinrich Dieter Kiener, officially opened the homely ‘Braugarten’ in the old brewery courtyard of Stiegl-Brauwelt.
The Braugarten beer garden is located in the oldest part of the Stiegl brewery premises and offers a unique atmosphere under the shade of chestnut trees. It features a beer font and a view of the old brewery mash house; ideal surroundings for sampling the many types of freshly pulled Stiegl beer. The brewer’s buffet treats guests to typical local and national specialities such as crispy roast chicken, spare ribs, horseradish and fresh baked bread. Rain or shine, Stiegl-Brauwelt is always a great venue. The former break room for the brewers was known as the Brauschalander. This rustic venue can accommodate up to 180 guests.
The Braustube tavern restaurant was opened back in October 2007 in the Brauwelt section of the brewery. Ramon Mayer is restaurant chef and is proud to offer the best of Austrian cuisine.
All matches for EURO 2008 will be shown live on large outdoor screens in the Braugarten on sunny days, and when the weather is not so good the games will be shown in the Brauschalander tavern. Every time a penalty is awarded Stiegl’s guests will be awarded a free ‘penalty’ beer’.
Stiegl-Brauwelt services are open seven days a week from 10.00 – 24.00 with a large car park for guests.
