Analog Internet access |
| Analog telephone connections (56 KBit/s) are available throughout the Congress Center. Notebooks require an analog modem. An internal modem is usually integrated in most notebooks. |
| The Internet access data must be entered by the user. |
ISDN Internet access |
| ISDN connections (128/64 KBit/s) are also available. The required ISDN modem (ISDN is the EURO-ISDN “EDSS1” standard used throughout Europe) is usually integrated in the notebook. If not, an external ISDN modem (e.g. AVM Fritz! Card USB 2.0) must be installed. |

OWG fixed Internet line (DDC) |
| Salzburg Congress has a powerful OSG (glass fiber) direct data connection (DDC, i.e. a “real” fixed line without co-users) with band widths from 2 to 34 MBit/s. The IP addressing for the respective workplaces is provided automatically via a DHCP server. Fixed IP addresses (NAT) to the public IP network for connection to virtual private networks (VPNs) are also available. Network access is available via distributors (Alcatel switches) throughout the Congress Center. Additional glass fiber connections (Salzburg-AG, Telekom) are also part of our technical infrastructure to allow users to set up their own fixed lines. |
|
An SMTP server is available for the transmission of email. |
| A temporary email account can also be provided for the length of the event upon request (Name@tsg-salzburg.at). |
Wi-Fi / Wireless-LAN (W-LAN) |
| We also offer a wireless local area network (W-LAN) with Internet access via our internal fixed line. The wireless network consists of several access points and is available throughout the building. Access keys (WEP) will be handed over to the organizer upon request. |
| To be able to use the W-LAN, the notebook must have a free PCMCIA slot to be able to install a W-LAN card (15 PCMCIA W-LAN cards are available in the building). Newer notebooks usually come with an integrated W-LAN interface. |
| Mobile radio connections (Workgroup Bridges) are available for the Ethernet port for PCs that do not have a built-in W-LAN interface. |
Virtual LAN (V-LAN) Congress customer network |
At the organizer's request, an independent local computer network (LAN) can be installed via V-LANs on several floors and in all rooms of the building. |
General information |
We would like to point out that Salzburg Congress merely has a basic EDP infrastructure for all types of connections. EDP hardware and software as well as access data for external servers or email accounts must be organized and provided by the organizer. We shall not assume any liability for malfunctioning or for problems in using hardware or software brought in by the organizer. Assistance can only be provided to the best of our ability. EDP equipment can also be rented from Salzburg Congress. |
