The International Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg will celebrate Mozart's 250th birthday with operas, concerts and museum projects.
The International Mozarteum Foundation will open the 2006 Mozart Year in Salzburg with Nikolaus Harnoncourt as the "artist in residence, with an installation by the American director, scenic artist, designer, sound artist and visual artist Robert Wilson in Mozart's birthplace, with a new production of Mozart's La finta giardiniera by the German producer Doris Dörrie, with spectacular festivities for Mozart's 250th birthday and countless concerts featuring international classical music stars. In addition, the International Mozart Foundation in Salzburg has announced that a contemporary music festival will be offered throughout the Mozart year.
