The city will focus on literature for five days during Salzburg's first Literature Festival. 26 authors will read at popular, familiar and unusual places in Salzburg's historic city center. The festival will build up on different language levels - 'Language:Playful with Franz Hohler and Yoko Tawada - 'Language:Feeling with Robert Menasse and Martin Walser - 'Language:Violence with Jürgen Flimm and Ulrich Peltzer.
Michael Köhlmeier will present a four-hour language marathon on "Greek mythology" at the House for Mozart. The young scene let off steam at the republic on the 'Language:Sound level, offering speech acts, PoetrySlam, music and videos.
