After having won the Down Beat as best Jazz violinist repeatedly, Regina Carter retained it again in 2007. As first Jazz musician she was allowed to play a 250 year old Guarneri violin in 2001, which used to belong to the famous violin virtuoso, Paganini. It was her first visit to the Mozart city at the 6th Salzburger Jazz-Herbst 2001.
Regina Carter can be heard and seen at the Salzburg Congress on the opening day of the Salzburg- Festival on Friday, 25.7.2008.
