A kaleidoscope of punch lines
"The Concert" is a comedy from the pointed pen of the Austrian author and playwright, Hermann Bahr, dealing with the battle of the sexes in terms of double standards, fraud and deceit. Gustav Heink, the aging star pianist defending his reputation as a Casanova, has a cottage in the mountains where he enjoys taking his piano pupils. This time it is Delfine who falls in love with the master. Marie, the pianist's clever wife, and Jura, Delfine's naïve, recently married husband, stage a daring game staking their marriages.
