The renovations to Mozart's Birthplace were completed just in time for the Mozart Year. The American artist, director, stage and light designer, Robert Wilson, redesigned the exhibition of the Mozart family's original apartments. Wilson's installation combines authentic exhibits from the "original scene" with his own artistic work.
The exhibition focuses on the room in which Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756. Robert Wilson placed a rock landmark to mark the spot where Mozart's work originated. Wilson uses poetic images to demonstrate that Mozart's music emanated from this room and spread throughout the world, inciting and inspiring people around the world to this day.
