UEFA EM 2008™ - Fan zones

The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship will not only be celebrated at the European Championship stadium in Wals-Siezenheim but also in the heart of Salzburg, a World Heritage Site. Fan zones will be set up throughout the Old City.

A gigantic video wall plus a stage, a food court around the Residence Fountain will be set up on Residence Square.

The VIP area is on Mozart Square (inner courtyard of the New Residence, Café Mozart, Hohensalzburg Fortress bastion; 6 restaurants). A VIP ticket will cost € 120.00 and can be purchased from the OK team.

Between June 7 and 18 the three preliminary matches (June 10, 14, 18 at 8:45 p.m.) at the European Championship stadium in Wals-Siezenheim will also be broadcast on the screen on Chapter Square, which will be designed as a "Family Park“.

The entire fan zone will accommodate some 25,000 visitors during these three days.

Access
Access to the fan zone is free of charge except for the VIP sector. No tickets will be available - admission will be on a first come, first served basis. The fan zone will be closed when it is full.

Business hours
June 7 – 29 from 2 – 11 p.m.
Everyone entering the fan zone will have to pass a security check. The fan zone can be accessed in the mornings (outside business hours) without the security check.

Sanitary facilities
An adequate number of sanitary facilities will be available

Gastronomy
The fan zone will have a number of eateries. No strong alcoholic drinks will be served, only beer, accompanied by a wide variety of culinary delicacies, both regional and international.

Entertainment program
A colorful entertainment program ranging from rock to traditional will stimulate visitors prior to the games. The program will feature young Austrian talents, intentionally leaving out international music stars.

Official opening
The fan zone will be officially opened on June 7 at 2:00 p.m.
