Stiegl-Brauwelt - A world of beer!

Stiegl-Brauwelt – A world of beer!
Europe’s largest beer brewing exhibition

A tour of the Stiegl Brauwelt is part of every good visit to Salzburg. The city isn’t just the home of the Salzburg festival of classical music and arts; it’s also Austria’s secret capital of beer brewing. Stiegl has also been brewing its typical Salzburg lager beer in the provincial capital since 1492. So it’s no surprise that no lesser genius than Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a known Stiegl drinker.

The brewery, Stieglbrauerei zu Salzburg, has established itself as the largest privately owned brewery in Austria, and now boasts yet another attraction for visitors to Salzburg - Stiegl Brauwelt:

At the heart of the hands-on exhibition is enabling visitors to experience the brewing of beer with all their senses. And there’s the beer museum featuring Europe’s largest tower of beer, as well as beer-related curiosities from all over the world.

No tour of the brewery is complete without tasting its golden nectar. Freshly pumped Stiegl beer flows from a unique beer font in the pleasant brewery courtyard. This is complemented by the serving of modern down-to-earth cuisine in the tavern dating back to 1863. A place to sample, savour and relax – Salzburg hospitality at its very best.
